Scope of Work
The MC Fitness and Health project created a two-story, 130,000-square-footfacility dedicated to comprehensive wellness. A new addition to Mount Carmel Health System’s network of care, this building is a combination of a state-of-the art fitness center and emergency department, as well as primary care and specialty physician offices. The building’s purpose mirrors its design providing a medically integrated approach to help you achieve your optimal health and fitness goals. As the Teledata contractor, our team completed the structured cabling for the entire facility, performing the installation, termination and testing of the horizontal cabling and backbone system. This low-voltage work encompassed the entire horizontal-structured cabling infrastructure, public address system, access point systems, sound and paging system, and telemetry system. A very complex network of cabling and equipment, this work was installed for multiple occupants, making the task of coordinating systems with several owners a challenge. The cabling installed consisted of Cat 6, coax, fiberoptic backbone and multi-pair copper backbone and required both termination and testing. The 50,000-square-foot fitness center at MC Fitness and Health offers patrons an indoor track, a 25-meter, eight-lane lap pool, full-service locker rooms and fitness studios equipped with cardio and strength training equipment. Being a comprehensive health and fitness facility, the new center offers integrated medical care in the form of many departments, including emergency, cardiac rehab, chronic disease management, imaging, occupational health, physical therapy, and women's health. The MC Fitness & Health Project reached completion in November 2015 and is offering its services to Central Ohio patients.
